Smash-and-grab break-ins take seconds. Security window film is one of the most cost-effective ways to slow them down. But it's important to know what it does, and what it doesn't.
What security film does
Security film is a thick, clear layer applied to the inside of the glass. When the glass breaks, the film holds the pieces together instead of letting them shatter into the store. That turns a two-second break-in into a slow, noisy one, which is often enough to make a thief give up.
We install clear safety films in 4 mil and 7 mil thicknesses for storefronts, offices, schools, and homes across Columbus.
What security film doesn't do
Security film is not bulletproof, and it won't make glass unbreakable. A determined person can still get through with enough time. Its job is to buy time, reduce flying glass, and make your business a harder target than the one next door.
Other benefits
- Safety: holds broken glass together during storms, accidents, or vandalism
- UV protection: helps reduce fading on merchandise and interiors
- Clear look: your windows look the same from the street
Is it worth it?
For most storefronts, the cost of film is far lower than one broken window, lost inventory, and a day of closed doors. It's especially worth considering if your business has large glass storefronts, high-value inventory, or a history of break-ins in the area.
