If you're adding a projector to a home theater, conference room, or church, the screen matters as much as the projector. The first big decision is whether to go motorized or fixed. As an authorized Draper projection screen dealer in Central Ohio, here's how we help clients choose.
Fixed-frame screens
A fixed-frame screen stays up on the wall all the time, like a large picture frame. The surface is held perfectly flat and tight, which gives the cleanest image.
- Best for: dedicated home theaters and media rooms where the screen is the focus of the room
- Why people choose it: flattest surface, simplest install, no moving parts
- Trade-off: the screen is always visible
Motorized screens
A motorized screen rolls up into a case when you're not using it and comes down with a remote, wall switch, or control system.
- Best for: living rooms, conference rooms, churches, and classrooms where the space has other uses
- Why people choose it: the screen disappears when it's not in use
- Options: surface-mounted cases, or recessed in-ceiling cases that hide completely
Recessed ceiling screens
For new construction or remodels, a recessed screen installs above the ceiling so only a thin slot shows. It's the cleanest look for a living room or boardroom, but it's easiest to plan before the drywall goes up.
Large venue screens
Churches, auditoriums, and gyms often need screens much larger than a home or office. Draper makes large venue screens built for those sizes, and we install them across Central Ohio.
Pair your screen with the right shades
A screen only looks as good as the room is dark. We often pair projection screens with blackout motorized shades so the room goes dark at the touch of a button.
